DIY Manuka Honey Hair Mask Recipe
Use this mask once a week for soft, shiny, and healthy hair!
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of Manuka honey (preferably MGO 250+)
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (for deep hydration)
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil (for added moisture)
- 1 egg yolk (for strengthening)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, warm the coconut oil and olive oil (if needed) until they are liquefied. Make sure not to overheat.
- Add the Manuka honey and egg yolk to the oils and stir until well combined into a smooth mixture.
- Wet your hair slightly to make it easier to apply the mask, or apply to dry hair for a more intense treatment.
- Using your fingers or a brush, apply the mask evenly from the roots to the ends, ensuring your scalp is covered.
- Leave the mask on for 20-30 minutes. You can cover your hair with a shower cap to trap heat, which will help the ingredients penetrate the hair shaft.
- Wash your hair with lukewarm water, then shampoo and condition as usual.
Benefits:
- Manuka Honey: Hydrates, strengthens hair, and promotes scalp health thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Coconut Oil: Deeply moisturises and nourishes hair, preventing breakage.
- Olive Oil: Adds softness and shine while repairing damage.
- Egg Yolk: Rich in protein and fats that strengthen hair and improve elasticity.
