DIY Manuka Honey Hair Mask Recipe

Use this mask once a week for soft, shiny, and healthy hair!

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Manuka honey (preferably MGO 250+)
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (for deep hydration)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil (for added moisture)
  • 1 egg yolk (for strengthening)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, warm the coconut oil and olive oil (if needed) until they are liquefied. Make sure not to overheat.
  2. Add the Manuka honey and egg yolk to the oils and stir until well combined into a smooth mixture.
  3. Wet your hair slightly to make it easier to apply the mask, or apply to dry hair for a more intense treatment.
  4. Using your fingers or a brush, apply the mask evenly from the roots to the ends, ensuring your scalp is covered.
  5. Leave the mask on for 20-30 minutes. You can cover your hair with a shower cap to trap heat, which will help the ingredients penetrate the hair shaft.
  6. Wash your hair with lukewarm water, then shampoo and condition as usual.

Benefits:

  • Manuka Honey: Hydrates, strengthens hair, and promotes scalp health thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Coconut Oil: Deeply moisturises and nourishes hair, preventing breakage.
  • Olive Oil: Adds softness and shine while repairing damage.
  • Egg Yolk: Rich in protein and fats that strengthen hair and improve elasticity.
